In business and politics, American investor Elon Musk has acquired the communications platform Twitter, and in South Korea, Yoon Suk-yeol was elected president by a very narrow margin. Across the globe, greenhouse gas emissions continue to break record highs, and fossil fuel emissions have once again exceeded pre-pandemic levels.
