Introduction Have you ever seen a baby staring off into an empty space behind you, laughing? What about hearing strange noises, late at night? Or, is there anything that’s ever happened to you that you can’t explain? Science is an incredible field, a pursuit [1] which has helped us to discover all that we know about the world. In spite of this, there remain many questions about the world for which science has no answer. American HolidaysFor long, long times, prior to modern day, humans have sought out answers for the questions science has been unable to answer. One such question is: are there ghosts in this world? For American children and teens, ghosts and other spooky things might be associated with October, for that is when the American holiday of Halloween takes place. Kids go trick-or-treating (which involves asking adults for candy), and dress as their favorite scary character. However, the Halloween that kids celebrate today was originally an ancient festival, designed to ward off ghosts and evil spirits.  A Long HistoryOn the topic of history, there have been many theories about the existence of ghosts in the world. Some have hypothesized that babies are able to see them from birth until they grow a bit older. Others believe that while ghosts are here, we are unable to interact with them. Instead, we only notice them by way of “chills” and other unexplained bodily sensations.  History aside, however, every individual has their own take on the unexplained and unexplainable. Do you think ghosts are real? If not, what is your take on the unexplained phenomena [2] in the world?
